“You’re not exactly an unknown, Misty… Don’t act like you never had a shot!” A24 revealed their official trailer for Misty Green, the new film written & directed by Chris Rock (directing his fourth film so far). This comes hot on the heels this week of news that the world premiere will be at TIFF 2026 this September, though no final release date from A24 yet. Years after her Hollywood breakthrough, a talented actress whose career has stalled fights for her second act. The film is said to “brilliantly satirize the bigotry and hustle at the heart of Hollywood.” Starring Slow Horses’ Rosalind Eleazar as Misty, Chris Rock, Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick, Topher Grace, Kelli Garner, Rich Sommer, Amy Landecker, Anthony Anderson, and Tracie Thoms as Rhonda. It reminds me of last year’s Jay Kelly at first glance, a similar story about making a comeback in Hollywood. A handful of fascinating characters in this and a top notch supporting cast to round things out. Definitely one to keep an eye out for arriving in fall! Take a look.
