A suspect has attempted to flee Coronation Street – but has been arrested before reaching the edge of the cobbles.

The ongoing murder mystery, surrounding the events of Theo Silverton’s (James Cartwright) death, has seen a number of residents face tough questioning from DS Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers). She even vetoed going on her honeymoon to get stuck into the interviews.
Oh, and to support daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin), who found his body.
The first to be hauled into the station was George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), who had Theo’s blood on his jumper and was notably absent for much of the evening in question. His partner Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) was next, and police are still suspicious of her movements.
Gary Windass (Mikey North), who smashed up Theo’s van and sent him a threatening text message just hours before he was killed, has also had a finger pointed towards him.

Earlier this week, George and Christina were stunned to find Summer Spellman’s (Harriet Bibby) journal, which detailed how she wanted to aim a gun at Theo’s head. She was furious to see that they’d invaded her privacy, and then burnt the diary in the back yard.
George was deeply unnerved, wondering why she was trying to dispose of evidence. He’d even remembered seeing her running away from the crime scene.
Summer denied everything, and when she was brought in for questioning, assumed that George had dobbed her in. However, DS Connor-Swain had actually found a picture of her wearing a brooch that had been found in Theo’s flat, and wanted to know how it had got there.
She managed to wriggle out of the awkward situation, and in today’s episode, prepared to leave for a university placement in America.
Little did she realise, George had told Connor-Swain about his concerns. He shared what he’d done with Christina, unaware that Summer was listening in from afar.
Later, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) was stunned to find Summer with a hold-all bag, explaining that she was scared about being arrested and would be flying to the States that afternoon. He begged her to stay, saying that it would only make her seem more guilty, and she fired back by saying that none of this would’ve happened had he not brought Theo into their lives.

Todd eventually agreed to drive Summer to the airport, though Connor-Swain and her team were already making their way to Coronation Street to get her.
In the Rovers, Todd told the regulars that a witness had came forward, which had then implicated her. A nervous George looked awash with guilt as everyone described Summer as a good person who would never be capable of taking someone’s life.
But could she be responsible?
