Partick Thistle welcome St Mirren to Firhill Stadium for the first leg of their Scottish Premiership play-off final on Thursday evening.
The Jags finished second in the Scottish Championship table and are looking to win promotion and return to the highest level for the first time since 2018.
Mark Wilson’s team beat Scottish Cup finalists Dunfermline Athletic 3-2 on aggregate in the semi-finals to get their crack at St Mirren, who are hoping to retain their top-flight status.
Saints were a lowly 11th out of 12 teams in the Scottish Premiership to finish in the relegation play-off spot, although they head into the two-legged tie in decent nick after beating Aberdeen and drawing with Dundee United in the final week of the regular season.
St Mirren have already beaten Partick this campaign courtesy of March’s 2-1 Scottish Cup victory, although that match took place a few days before manager Stephen Robinson’s shock departure from Paisley to Aberdeen.
