“I need you to tell me exactly how I got here!” Shudder has unveiled an official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Hellcat, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Brock Bodell. This premiered at the 2025 Fantasia Film Festival one year ago, and will be out for streaming on Shudder starting in August this summer. Tense and mind-bending, Hellcat marks the feature directorial debut of the editor / filmmaker Brock Bodell and features a gripping, breakout performance from Dakota Gorman as Lena, a woman who wakes up in a moving camper trailer with a horrifying wound. She’s warned by the driver that they have one hour to her get to a doctor, or she’ll succumb to an unimaginably awful fate. But is she the danger? Also co-starring Todd Terry. This teaser hints at some sort of werewolf reveal – although using this Hellcat title, I wonder if she’ll turn into some were-cat instead of a werewolf? Have to watch this and find out for yourself.

Produced by Andrew Duensing, Nate Eggert, Brock Bodell. This initially premiered at the 2025 Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal last year. Shudder debuts Bodell’s Hellcat horror film streaming starting August 14th, 2026. It’ll be out on VOD in the UK on the same date.
