DC has released the official trailer for its upcoming Batman animated filmBatman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall, which adapts the iconic story of Bane’s introduction in the first part of a trilogy. The film will be released digitally in late August with a 4K and Blu-ray release in September. Watch the trailer below…
TheKnightfalltrilogy adapts the classic 90s story where Bruce Wayne was pushed to his mental and physical limits by Bane, a cunning and deadly adversary who uses the super steroid Venom to gain incredible strength. His battle with Bane ends in a rare defeat as Bane broke his back, forcing Bruce to name a replacement as Batman while he attempted to heal his back.
The first part of the trilogy has the subtitle ofKnightfallwith parts two and three presumably being namedKnightquestandKnightsendas the graphic novel collections are titled. Part 1 will adapt the first act of Bane’s introduction as he releases all the villains from Arkham Asylum to weaken Batman before confronting him at Wayne Manor.
Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall stars Anson Mount (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds) as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Mando (Spider-Man: Brand New Day) as Bane, and Pablo Schreiber (His & Hers) as Jean-Paul Valley/Azrael. The film is directed by Jeff Wamester (Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Trilogy) and written by Jeremy Adams (Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons). Rick Morales serves as Supervising Producer alongside Producers Jim Krieg and Kimberly S. Moreau. Sam Register and Michael Uslan are Executive Producers.
Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall will be released digitally on August 25th followed by its 4K and Blu-ray release on September 8th.Knightfall: Part 2is expected late 2026 withKnightfall: Part 3 following in early 2027.
