Dara-san of Reiwa is joining the summer anime line-up, with the first episode of the horror-comedy series’ release schedule set to come out on Crunchyroll very soon.
Based on the manga by Haruomi Tomotsuka, the anime follows siblings Hinata and Kaoru, who live in a mountain village. After entering a forbidden mountain forest, the pair encounter Yamatagi Madara — a terrifying half-human, half-serpent god.
Rather than being terrified and running from the supernatural being, however, the siblings quickly become attached to her and begin calling her Dara-san.

Dara-san of Reiwa release schedule: When are new anime episodes coming out?
Dara-san of Reiwa is scheduled to begin streaming on Crunchyroll on Thursday 2 July 2026, which Crunchyroll previously confirmed in a trailer it dropped in the first week of June, 2026.
In Japan, the anime will begin airing on the same day via AT-X on the 2 July, as well — before later broadcasts on TOKYO MX, BS NTV, and Kansai TV, followed by streaming on the Japanese ABEMA and d Anime Store services.
Assuming the entire streaming release schedule remains uninterrupted, each date for each episode of the Dara-san of Reiwa is as follows:

- Episode 2 – Thursday 9 July 2026
- Episode 3 – Thursday 16 July 2026
- Episode 4 – Thursday 23 July 2026

What time are the new Dara-san of Reiwa episodes released?
Crunchyroll has not yet confirmed the exact release time for new Dara-san of Reiwa episodes, but we expect it to be shortly before or after the anime’s broadcast time — which is at 9:30pm JST on AT-X.
Converted into other time zones, that works out as:
- Pacific Time – 5:30am
- Eastern Time – 8:30am
- Brazil Time – 9:30am
- UK time – 1:30pm
- Central European Time – 2:30pm
- India Standard Time – 6pm
- Philippine Time – 8:30pm
- Australia Central Time – 10pm
As we get a confirmed release time closer to Dara-san of Reiwa’s premiere, however, we’ll update this guide as soon as we can.
How many episodes will there be?
According to the official Japanese Dara-san of Reiwa site, the anime will have 13 episodes; this was confirmed by the fact that the site is listing that number of episodes for its future Blu-Ray release across three volumes.
Dara-san of Reiwa is set in a remote mountain village where one area has long been treated as forbidden ground.

Hinata and Kaoru, siblings from the Misogiya family, enter the forbidden area near their mountain village during a storm and encounter Yamatagi Madara, a feared god with a giant serpent body.
However, the pair is not frightened in the way Dara-san expects. Instead, they surprisingly grow close, turning what begins as a supernatural encounter into a strange, chaotic, and unexpectedly warm relationship – following Dara-san as she is drawn into the everyday lives of the fearless siblings.
