The post-apocalyptic dystopian series Station Eleven is now a lot easier to watch, as it’s found a new streaming home in the UK.
The 10-part series, based on the iconic 2014 novel by Emily St John Mandel, is available to stream on NOW from 24 July after first being released December 2021/January 2022 on HBO Max in the US. The first two episodes will also air at 9pm tonight (24 July) on Sky Atlantic.
EastEnders legend (and now, star of The Odyssey), Himesh Patel stars alongside Terminator actress Mackenzie Davis and KAOS star Nabhaan Rizwan in the series which follows a group of traveling performers who survived a devastating pandemic which caused the collapse of civilisation – and whose lives are thrown into chaos when they meet a violent cult.
Patel’s character, Jeevan Chaudry, is an audience member on the night of the pandemic, who is watching a production of King Lear and springs into action when one of the actors has a heart attack. He goes on to help a young Kirsten (played by Matilda Lawler and Davis).
The actor previously opened up about how the cast and crew were prepared for the series to be written off when it premiered amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We were understanding if people didn’t want to come near a show like this,” he told Variety at the time.
“But we knew at its heart what the show was and for people to recognise that as well really means a lot. Ultimately this story tells us that no matter what, as long as we’re around, as long as there are a handful of us around, we will find a way to survive.

However, Station Eleven was well received and went on to be nominated for seven Emmys, including for outstanding directing, writing and music composition.
