Finn Carr, who plays Rocco on General Hospital, shared details about a scripted moment that went wrong, though he continued acting naturally through the scene. Rocco was revealed to be responsible for the shooting of Cullum, but his father, Jason, took the blame instead. He was then told to stay quiet about the incident, unable to even tell the truth to Danny and Charlotte, who remain determined to clear Jason’s name. As the duo heads to Spoon Island for their mission involving Jason, Rocco grows increasingly frustrated over the possibility that they could land in trouble because of him.

General Hospital’s Finn Carr talks Rocco’s unscripted moment
In a conversation with Soap Opera Digest, Carr revealed that Rocco gets scared as he thinks that Danny and Charlotte might hurt themselves or get in trouble if they go to Spoon Island. This leads to him throwing a pillow at the couch, a scene that particularly went awry due to Carr’s bad aim. He also mentioned that executive producer Frank Valentini likes to showcase emotions through physicality.
“Frank likes to add a lot of fun physicality between me and [props] on the set or me and the other actors, like when Rocco spilled juice on his bandaged hand. So at the end of the scenes where I’m trying and trying to convince Danny and Charlotte not to go to the island, he said, ‘Rocco’s very frustrated after this. Have him throw the pillow at the wall,’” he explained.
Carr said he has a pretty “terrible” aim because he is a rock climber and a swimmer, and also struggles to throw the balls. In this case as well, he wasn’t able to throw the pillow correctly and missed the target, resulting in an unscripted moment.
“So, I completely missed my target area — my massive target area — of the wall! It hit the one area I wasn’t supposed to hit, which was the chessboard and the vase on the table in front of the wall,” he explained. Carr further added, “I broke the vase on impact with my pillow! That was completely accidental, not in the script at all.”
