Can anyone stop France? That is one of the big questions as the World Cup 2026 quarter-finals begin and one that Morocco will hope to answer on Thursday.

The two-time winners have looked lethal going forward at this summer’s tournament and should have the firepower to outgun anyone.
France had to show their grit, too, as they claimed a narrow victory over Paraguay in the round of 16 and are the favourites to lift the trophy.

They would be foolish to underestimate Morocco, however, as the AFCON champions have not come to the World Cup to make up the numbers.
They’ve been outstanding so far and have the players to hurt France, but how will Thursday’s first quarter-final play out?

France v Morocco predictions
This game is going to be tighter than many expect. Morocco are a top team that are well-drilled and have real quality throughout.
France have looked by no means untouchable and the Atlas Lions will feel they can get after their midfield and backline.
Morocco will give them a scare but Didier Deschamps’s side may just have too much attacking firepower. The French forward line has turned half-chances into goals throughout the tournament and will fire them into the semi-finals.
Radio Times says… France 3-1 Morocco
