Greta Lee has joined the cast of Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5, releasing on June 19, 2026. The film features Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and Jessie facing a challenge when a tablet device named Lilypad arrives.

Speaking to Fandango, Lee, known for Past Lives, shared her appreciation for joining the cast, stating, “I was 13 when the first movie came out. It’s such an unbelievable honor. It’s such a wild thing to be part of something that I experienced myself, as a kid, and now I’m part of this, and I’m getting to experience it again with my own kids.”

Discussing Lilypad’s nature, Lee said, “I think that was very fun for us from the beginning to think about a character who’s completely unbothered, actually, by the rest of them and unburdened by how stressed they are with the arrival of this device and how it’s changing the way Bonnie plays.”

Regarding their shared care for Bonnie, Lee added, “I love that. Even though Jesse and Lily are polar opposites, they both fundamentally care about Bonnie. That is something that they do have in common, but with very different tactics, obviously.”

On her favorite characters, Lee said, “Slinky dog. That’s the only answer. I love Slinky Dogs. Or Forky. Forky is not even a toy, but becomes one.”

Directed by Andrew Stanton, who helmed WALL•E, Finding Nemo, and Finding Dory, the film is co-directed by Kenna Harris of Ciao Alberto and produced by Lindsey Collins, whose credits include Turning Red, WALL•E, and Finding Dory. Featuring a Randy Newman score, the film releases in India in English and Hindi on June 19, 2026, as the project prepares to debut globally.
