John Abraham has finally responded after filmmaker Shekhar Kapur suggested his name as a potential successor to James Bond in the globally popular spy-action franchise. The conversation began when Shekhar Kapur took to social media to share his thoughts on who could play the next Bond following Daniel Craig’s exit from the franchise. The filmmaker wrote that John Abraham possesses the “Bond charm” and the cool “shaken not stirred” persona associated with the iconic spy character.

Coming from someone who not only redefined storytelling but also had the instinct to spot Daniel Craig before the world saw Bond in him… this means a lot to me. As for Bond… I’ll happily start practising my martini order immediately. Shaken, not stirred”, John wrote on social media.

The actor’s response instantly grabbed attention online, with many fans praising his sense of humour and agreeing that he could convincingly fit into the suave and action-heavy world of Bond.

In his original post, Shekhar Kapur had also recalled how Daniel Craig landed the role of Bond in Casino Royale after the producers noticed his performance in Kapur’s acclaimed historical drama Elizabeth. The filmmaker’s statement reignited discussions around the casting process for the next Bond, a topic that has remained under intense speculation ever since Craig’s final outing in No Time to Die.
