*Warning – contains spoilers for the first season of MobLand*

There’s been a lot of discussion around MobLand in the last few months – much of it to do with Tom Hardy’s future on the series after there were reports he had been fired from subsequent seasons of the hit gangster show.
The latest on that front is that it looks like he will still be back in the future, but the more pressing news for now is that we’ve finally been told when the hotly anticipated second run will be on our screens.
The series – which also stars Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren – was officially renewed for a second season back in June 2025 after it proved to be a monster hit for streamer Paramount+, and there’s not long to wait now.
There was a lot to draw viewers to the series, including the all-star cast, which also features Paddy Considine, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon and Mandeep Dhillon, and the creatives behind the camera, such as Ronan Bennett and Guy Ritchie.
But what do we know about MobLand season 2 so far? Read on for everything you need to know or, alternatively, check out the soundtrack for season 1.
Will there be a MobLand season 2?

There will! It was confirmed on 23rd June 2025 that MobLand will be back for season 2, after the first run became the second highest rated original series ever on Paramount Plus, behind only Landman.
When the news was announced, Chris McCarthy, one of Paramount Global’s three CEOs and the president of Showtime/MTV Entertainment, said: “With more than 26 million viewers and climbing, MobLand has become a resounding triumph — driven by the creative brilliance of Guy [Ritchie], Jez [Butterworth], Ronan [Bennett] and David Glasser, and brought to life by the powerhouse performances of Tom [Hardy], Pierce [Brosnan], and Helen [Mirren].
“We are elated to greenlight a second season of this global phenomenon, which has dominated both domestic and international charts and soared to No. 1 in the UK.”
Meanwhile, Butterworth said: “TV was a brand new world for me and I was reluctant to commit to a TV overall, but Chris, David, and the teams at Paramount and 101 Studios, completely changed my perspective with their bold creative vision and razor-sharp strategic insight.
“Collaborating with Chris, David, Guy and our stellar cast has been nothing short of inspiring, and I’m excited to dive into the second season of MobLand.”
When will MobLand season 2 be released?

It’s now been confirmed that the second season will arrive on Paramount+ on Friday 18 September 2026 – with the new episodes launching globally on that date.
That date was revealed on Thursday 9 July alongside a new teaser trailer and a fresh batch of first-look images, and it seems that things will be taken up another notch or two in this new run.
The tagline for the new run does little to suggest otherwise, reading: “Prepare for uncivil war, the Harrigans are bloody back.”
Meanwhile, the synopsis for the 10-episode second season says that it “will see the Harrigans struggle to show a unified front as rising rivals threaten their fractured criminal empire – and Harry Da Souza, their street-smart and formidable ‘fixer’, must walk a dangerous tightrope when tensions within the family intensify”.
It continues: “As violence spills into every corner of their lives, loyalties snap, safety proves temporary, and the battle for power leaves no room for mercy.”
Who could return to star in MobLand season 2?

The cast for MobLand season 2 will see the vast majority of the characters from last season return – in addition to a handful of new additions.
Of course, Tom Hardy is back as Harry, despite that sticky end for him, with writer Jez Butterworth previously confirming he won’t die from his stab wound. As for whether he’ll be back for the third season, we’re still awaiting another official announcement on that front.
Meanwhile the returns of Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, Paddy Considine and Joanne Froggatt are also confirmed along with the rest of the surviving central characters.
As for new arrivals, Johnny Flynn and Ophelia Lovibond have both joined the cast, although we’ve not been given a great deal of information about their characters at this stage.
