Heartstopper might be coming to an end this month, but it will be concluding on a high with a special documentary celebrating the franchise, Netflix has announced.

Heartstopper: Ending on a Hi, which will take fans behind the scenes of the hit series, will be released on the platform on 24 July – a week after Nick and Charlie’s love story is set to come to an end in Heartstopper Forever on 17 July.
“Drawing on unseen archival footage spanning every season through to the final film, the special brings together the cast, creator Alice Oseman, executive producer Patrick Walters, and the fans who made Heartstopper a global phenomenon,” the synopsis teases.
“Through candid interviews and fan voices, it charts the show’s creative journey, cultural impact, and lasting legacy – a love letter to the community it brought together. Because every ending is also a beginning. Somewhere, someone is about to say ‘hi’ for the very first time.”

Based on the graphic novels by Alice Oseman, the live-action adaptation first launched onto our screens in 2022 and soon became a huge hit, with viewers heaping praise upon the show for its warm and positive representation of LGBTQ+ characters.
The upcoming feature-length finale – which marks a format change for the series – will present Nick and Charlie with their biggest challenge yet as the former gears up to head off to university and the pair are faced with the prospect of a long-distance relationship.

Speaking to Netflix’s TUDUM ahead of the film’s release, Oseman teased that story will be “an exploration of time, memory, love, pain, the changing of the seasons, endings and beginnings, and the core element of Heartstopper: the ordinary magic of our everyday lives”.
Heartstopper: Ending on a Hi launches on Netflix on 24 July while Heartstopper Forever will become available on the platform on 17 July.
