The World Cup 2026 quarter-finals kick off on Thursday as France face Morocco in Boston.

Didier Deschamps’s side have lived up to their favourites tag so far but had to dig deep for a narrow victory over a fiery Paraguay team in the round of 16.

France’s key strength is their lethal attack, which includes Kylian Mbappe, Michael Olise, and Ousmane Dembele, and Morocco will know they cannot afford to allow them too many opportunities.

The Atlas Lions are the only African side remaining at the World Cup, having eased past Canada in the last round, but will need to spring an upset if they are to reach the semi-finals for the second consecutive tournament.

A place in the semi-finals against either Spain or Belgium is the prize for the winner.
