Legendary stand-up comedian Dave Chappelle has provided an update on his cult-classic series, Chappelle’s Show, and, much to his fans’ relief, it is finally a positive one. During a recent sit-down, the five-time Primetime Emmy winner revealed that he has started thinking about reviving the fan-favorite sketch comedy show after a 20-year hiatus.

Dave Chappelle says he’s ‘considering’ the prospect of bringing back Chappelle’s Show
While speaking with the Associated Press, the 52-year-old comedy veteran confirmed that he has started contemplating resurrecting his sketch series of late.
“If you’d asked me that question a year ago, I’d have told you absolutely not,” Chappelle noted. “But in the last few weeks… I’m considering it.”
He also acknowledged that the comedy scene has undergone a massive shift over the years, with the younger generation bringing its own unique spin to the genre. The drastic change may have inspired Chapelle to bring back his show, but he also has immense respect for artists of the current age.
Talking about Druski, Chapelle noted, “I love what he does.” He then explained that Druski’s journey from digital creator to one of the most recognized comedians of today allowed him to grow as an artist. “One of the worst things that can happen to a comedian is becoming successful before they get good, because you miss the part where you get to explore and make mistakes,” Chapelle said.
Notably, Chappelle’s Show ran from 2003 to 2006 on Comedy Central, before the titular comedian decided to part ways with the entity. Chappelle exited the series after the second installment, leading to an abbreviated Season 3 with only three episodes.
Dave Chappelle explained his departure from his show in 2020 via an 18-minute segment on Instagram, stating, “When I quit the show, all my friends would say, ‘Well then, f— them, Dave, why don’t you just doChappelle’s Showat another network?’ Yeah, yeah, yeah. And why doesn’t the slave run from one plantation to another plantation because the master over there might be nicer! My God, man, I was trapped.”
