Hulu has set the release date for Osgood Perkins‘ folk horror film. Headlined by a Marvel star, it premiered in theaters several months ago to a mixed-to-negative critical reception.
Keeper arrives on Hulu in June
Keeper, starring Tatiana Maslany, is heading to Hulu on June 5, 2026. It earlier arrived on digital storefronts on December 9, 2025, and became available in Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Combo Pack on January 20, 2026.
Distributed by Neon, it was originally released in theaters on November 14, 2025. It struggled considerably during its theatrical run, eventually grossing only approximately $6.2 million against its estimated $6 million budget.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie shows a rotten 45% critical rating and a similarly mediocre 40% audience score. Meanwhile, Metacritic displays a Metascore of 54 and a user score of 5.1 — both denoting “mixed or average” reception.
Critical reviews are largely negative. Slate‘s Nadira Goffe wrote, “Keeperis a movie that starts with immense promise but squanders it minute by minute. Despite a great performance from Maslany,Keeperstruggles to remain innovative and definitely doesn’t stick the landing.”
Meanwhile, Allison Rose of FlickDirect gave it 2/5 stars in her review. She praised the visuals and Maslany’s performance, but criticized the story and characterization, saying it ruined the film.
ComingSoon’s Jonathan Sim deemed Keeper “a major step down” compared to Osgood Perkins’ other recent films. He gave it 3/10 stars, which is “Bad” as per the site’s review policy.
However, not all reviews were critical. Maria Lattila of Film Stories deemed it “another strong offering” from the filmmaker. She added that he is “quickly asserting himself as one of the most original voices not just in horror, but Hollywood in general.”
The story revolves around a couple who travel to a secluded cabin during the weekend to spend their anniversary. Not long after, they start experiencing strange, haunting situations, prompting them to uncover the property’s history.
Perkins directed Keeper from Nick Lepard’s screenplay. Meanwhile, Chris Ferguson and Jesse Savath co-produced it.
In addition to Tatiana Maslany, the film stars Rossif Sutherland, Birkett Turton, and Eden Weiss. Also featuring are Cassandra Ebner, Tess Degenstein, Erin Boyes, Gina Vultaggio, and Claire Friesen.
