Peacock has cancelled The Copenhagen Test just eight days after the show became available to stream for free on this side of the pond.

The espionage thriller series, which is led by Marvel star Simu Liu, is set in the near future and follows Alexander Hale (Liu), an army veteran and intelligence agent for The Orphanage who discovers his brain has been hacked, giving his enemies access to everything he sees and hears.

After premiering on Peacock in the US on 27 December 2025, the show became available to watch in the UK on Channel 4 on 8 April 2026.

But according to Variety, the series won’t be returning for additional episodes.

The eight-episode first season received mainly positive reviews and has earned a critics’ score of 71 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes, but reportedly failed to become a streaming hit.

According to Nielsen data listed in Variety’s report, the show garnered 373 million minutes viewed from 29 December through 4 January.

While these viewing figures earned the series the number 10 spot on Nielsen’s top 10 streaming originals chart for that week, the show failed to reach the top 10 in subsequent weeks.
