“Don’t be scared. You have been chosen… Chosen to bring us a gift!” Saban Film has revealed the official trailer for a horror film titled Son of Sara, another one heading straight to VOD this summer. It’s being pitched as “the next generation’s take on the horror classic Rosemary’s Baby” but it just doesn’t look good enough to have that kind of impact. A pregnant woman’s cravings turn sinister as her estranged boyfriend’s return coincides with a terrifying secret about the life growing inside her. Canadian director Houston Bone says: “After gagging Toronto at Blood in the Snow [Festival] this past winter, we are excited to be working with Saban to bring our grisly horror movie, and our new little monster, to audiences across the United States. This film has been a passion project for all of us since we shot it back in October 2023. Real blood, sweat, and tears went into bringing Son of Sara to the screen.” The film stars Chloe Van Landschoot, Tymika Tafari, Garret Hnatiuk, & Jane Moffat. It looks extra frightening and totally nuts! Watch out.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Houston Bone’s horror film Son of Sara, direct from YouTube:

Haunted by strange urges and visions, a pregnant woman named Sara accepts an invitation to dinner that spirals into a bloody, demented nightmare. Her estranged boyfriend’s sudden return coincides with a terrifying secret about the life growing inside her. Son of Sara, also known as Son of Sara: Volume 1, is written and directed by Canadian indie genre filmmaker Houston Bone (aka Mathew Murray), director of the film I Don’t Know Who You Are and the “Teenagers” series previously, plus tons of other short films before. Produced by Martine Brouillet & Houston Bone; executive produced by David Johnson. This initially premiered at the 2025 Blood in the Snow Film Festival last year up in Toronto, Canada. Saban Films debuts Bone’s Son of Sara film direct-to-VOD starting July 31st, 2026 coming up this summer. Look any scary?
