The Grand Tour is returning to Prime Video with a brand new series – and it’s quite different to what fans have been used to.

The original series was presented by Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond from 2016 for eight years, before concluding its run with one final special, titled One for the Road, in 2024.
Now, the series will be helmed by celebrated trainspotter and secret petrolhead Francis Bourgeois, alongside James Engelsman and Thomas Holland, the acclaimed creators of the YouTube phenomenon Throttle House.
The series will be speeding onto screens on Prime Video on Friday 4 September.
Francis Bourgeois said: “Since completing the filming of the series, I haven’t stopped replaying every moment in my head. It has made me laugh, made my heart race and my stomach turn… remembering the tent I shared with Thomas and James filled with sulphuric farts whilst Angolan jackals snooped around outside.
“It feels as though it was a dream but knowing we will get to share our adventures soon makes me so incredibly excited!”

James Engelsman added: “We took on the West African Desert. We contended with fighter pilots. We even decided to challenge an entire nation’s legal system by protesting from the mountain tops. In doing so, the three of us learned our true strength: How to accept defeat gracefully.”
While Thomas Holland commented: “I figured someone would be there to hold our hand the whole time. Nope. We were on our own in some absolutely wild environments in very, VERY questionable cars.
“What did we learn from this experience? Only that we have very poor decision-making skills. When you watch in September, expect a good laugh. And maybe a few butt clenches…”
Across the six episodes, the trio will tackle motoring’s most pressing questions across some of the world’s most challenging terrains.
The synopsis continues: “From crossing the Angolan desert in track cars to exploring Malaysia’s vibrant car culture, before heading to California to test cutting-edge performance cars, Francis, James and Thomas drive the new series into a new era.”
And the new hosts have got a Jeremy Clarkson stamp of approval, with a video previously released by Prime Video showing Clarkson looking over the CVs of everyone who applied to be a presenter on the new series.
“He’s the train man from the internet,” Clarkson says of Bourgeois, before stamping ‘approved’ on his CV.
