A place in League One is up for grabs when Notts County and Salford City clash in the League Two play-off final at Wembley on Monday afternoon.
Magpies loanee Jayden Luker scored the only goal in their semi-final tie against Chesterfield as goalkeeper James Belshaw kept clean sheets in both legs to move them one step closer to promotion.
The Ammies, meanwhile, were taken to extra time by Grimsby Town after a 2-1 defeat in the second leg of their semi-final tie left the scores at 3-3 on aggregate. Kallum Cesay emerged as Salford’s extra-time hero as he pounced from close range in the 117th minute to keep their promotion hopes alive.
The two teams will hope their stumbles in the final weeks of the regular season do not come back to haunt them.
Salford could only draw at lowly Crawley Town on the final day to miss out on automatic promotion and Notts County lost two of their last four league games to also find themselves needing the play-offs.
