5 creepy Netflix shows to watch after Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen

Posted on March 28, 2026April 17, 2026 By webseriesdownload No Comments on 5 creepy Netflix shows to watch after Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen

Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen is finally available to stream on Netflix. That’s eight episodes of pure, slow‑burn horror, each one meticulously crafted to unsettle, disturb, and creep under your skin in ways you didn’t realize were possible.

We follow Rachel Harkin, a bride-to-be whose anticipation for her wedding slowly unravels into something far darker as an unshakable sense of dread begins to take hold. What should be one of the happiest weeks of her life instead becomes a suffocating descent into anxiety, paranoia, and the terrifying feeling that something is deeply, irreversibly wrong.

After binge-watching all of Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, you’ll most likely still be in the mood for more psychological horror. Fortunately, Netflix has no shortage of unsettling series that’ll keep you on edge. Below, we shared a good list of five more creepy Netflix shows to add to your watchlist!

Elizabeth Reaser as Shirley Crain Harris in The Haunting of Hill House | Netflix

The Haunting of Hill House

  • Cast: Michiel Huisman, Carla Gugino, Henry Thomas, Elizabeth Reaser, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Kate Siegel, Victoria Pedretti
  • Seasons: 1

Created and directed by Mike Flanagan, The Haunting of Hill House reimagines Shirley Jackson’s 1959 classic novel and turns it into a deeply emotional and psychologically complex story that merges supernatural terror with family drama.

Rather than strictly following the book, the horror series focuses on the Crain family, whose experiences in the haunting Hill House continue to haunt them decades later. The story unfolds across two timelines. In the summer of 1992, Hugh and Olivia Crain move into the mansion with their five children to renovate it and sell it for profit. The house, with its twisting corridors, hidden rooms, and unnerving presence, immediately begins to warp the family’s sense of reality.

By the present day, the Crain siblings are now estranged and struggling with the weight of their past, particularly the recent suicide of their youngest sister, Nell, which forces them to confront the trauma they have long tried to ignore.

(L to R) SAMANTHA SLOYAN as BEV KEANE and HAMISH LINKLATER as FATHER PAUL in episode 106 of MIDNIGHT MASS | Netflix

Midnight Mass

  • Cast: Kate Siegel, Zach Gilford, Kristin Lehman, Samantha Sloyan, Igby Rigney, Rahul Kohli
  • Seasons: 1

Like The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass is another haunting and deeply personal project from Flanagan. But instead of centering its horror on ghosts and haunted houses, it shifts its focus to something far more unsettling. That’s faith, guilt, and the dangerous power of belief.

Set on the isolated Crockett Island, Midnight Mass unfolds within a small, struggling fishing community where religion plays a central role in daily life. The town is quiet, tight-knit, and deeply rooted in tradition, making it the perfect setting for a story that slowly unravels the line between devotion and fear.

The series follows Riley Flynn, a troubled young man returning home after serving prison time for a drunk-driving accident that claimed a woman’s life. At the same time, a mysterious new priest arrives and begins to inspire a wave of renewed faith across the island. When a series of seemingly miraculous events starts to occur, the community becomes convinced that something divine is happening. But as the miracles intensify, so do the unsettling signs that something far darker may be at work.

Behind Her Eyes Production Still | Nick Wall/Netflix

Behind Her Eyes

  • Cast: Tom Bateman, Simona Brown, Eve Hewson, Robert Aramayo
  • Seasons: 1

Now, let’s move into a slightly different genre than horror. Created by Steve Lightfoot, Behind Her Eyes is a psychological thriller that lures you in with a familiar setup before slowly unraveling into something far more unsettling and unexpected. It’s based on Sarah Pinborough’s bestselling novel of the same name, and begins as a story about relationships, secrets, and emotional manipulation. However, it doesn’t stay confined to that space for long.

We follow Louise, a single mother navigating the challenges of raising a child alone while trying to maintain a sense of normalcy in her life. Everything changes one night when she meets David, a charming stranger at a bar, and feels an immediate connection.

Louise soon discovers, to her shock, that David is not only her new boss but also married to the mysterious and seemingly fragile Adele. Despite the obvious complications, Louise is drawn into an affair with David. At the same time, she develops an unlikely friendship with Adele. As Louise becomes more entangled in their lives, she begins to notice strange and unsettling behaviors from both David and Adele.

The deeper she gets, the more she realizes that nothing is as it seems. Secrets, lies, and hidden motives create a tense, unpredictable situation, while the introduction of lucid dreaming and astral projection adds a chilling, supernatural dimension to the story.

The Watcher season 1 Production Still | Eric Liebowitz/Netflix

The Watcher

  • Cast: Naomi Watts, Bobby Cannavale, Isabel Gravitt, Luke David Blumm, Jennifer Coolidge, Margo Martindale
  • Seasons: 1

If you’ve ever dreamed of owning the perfect suburban home, Netflix’s The Watcher is here to make sure you think twice before signing on the dotted line. Created by the ever-provocative duo Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, the series transforms the classic suburban dream into a chilling psychological thriller.

It’s loosely based on the real-life events surrounding the Broaddus family, who purchased a house in Westfield, New Jersey, only to begin receiving eerie, anonymous letters from someone calling themselves “The Watcher.”

The Netflix television adaptation follows the Brannock family as they move into what appears to be their dream home. But almost immediately, their excitement turns to unease. Mysterious letters arrive, each one more unsettling than the last, and the family finds their sense of safety slowly dismantled.

(L to R) Sauriyan Sapkota as Prospero Usher, Kate Siegel as Camille L’Espanaye, Rahul Kohli as Napoleon Usher, Matt Biedel as Bill-T Wilson, Samantha Sloyan as Tamerlane Usher, Mark Hamill as Arthur Pym in episode 101 of The Fall of the House of Usher | Eike Schroter/Netflix

The Fall of the House of Usher

  • Cast: Carla Gugino, Bruce Greenwood, Mary McDonnell, Henry Thomas, Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli, Samantha Sloyan
  • Seasons: 1

Now, we’re back to Flanagan. There was a point in time when Flanagan was just taking over Netflix one horror show at a time. From The Haunting of Hill House to Midnight Mass, he had already proven that he could create content that was as emotionally compelling as it was terrifying. But with The Fall of the House of Usher, Flanagan went all in. He ended up crafting one of his most ambitious and intricately plotted works yet.

Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s classic short story of the same name and more of his works, The Fall of the House of Usher centers around the wealthy and powerful Usher family, whose opulent lifestyle masks a history of dark secrets, moral corruption, and an inescapable family curse.

Due to decades of ambition, betrayal, and hidden sins, the Ushers’ seemingly perfect world begins to unravel when a mysterious figure from their past reemerges and orchestrates a series of sinister events that force the family to confront the consequences of their dark legacy.

Don’t forget to head on over to Netflix and stream these five unsettling shows!
