Alia Bhatt brought vintage glamour to the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival with a couture look that blended old Hollywood silhouettes with contemporary craftsmanship. The actress stepped out in a custom creation by designer Yash Patil, known on social media as @that.antiquepiece, wearing an ensemble inspired by the iconic fashion sensibilities of the 1950s.

The outfit featured a structured fitted bodice with angular cups and delicate spaghetti straps, giving the look a sharp yet feminine silhouette. The design flowed into a drop waist before opening into a voluminous skirt layered with ombré-dyed silk organza and tulle. The pastel palette moved through soft tones of lavender, sage green, powder blue and ivory, adding a dreamy texture to the overall look.

What made the ensemble particularly distinctive was its hand-painted detailing by artist Basuri Chokshi. Inspired by the French Riviera, the artwork reflected scenic landscapes, blooming lavender fields and the timeless romance associated with the South of France. The painted motifs transformed the couture piece into what many fashion observers described as wearable art.

Alia kept her styling understated to allow the craftsmanship of the gown to remain the focal point. She wore her hair in a soft low bun with loose face-framing strands, complementing the romantic mood of the outfit. Her makeup followed a fresh and luminous approach with glowing skin, softly defined eyes, flushed cheeks and a muted pink lip.

The actress completed the look with minimal jewellery, opting for delicate earrings and rings that added subtle sparkle without overpowering the ensemble. Nude peep-toe heels further complemented the pastel tones of the gown.

Set against the scenic Cannes coastline, the look reflected a balance of vintage couture and contemporary styling. The structured tailoring, artistic detailing and soft colour palette together created one of Alia Bhatt’s most visually striking fashion appearances at the festival this year.
