We hope you’re hungry for drama because Netflix is finally dishing up another serving of Beef.

Lee Sung Jin’s comedy-drama wowed viewers when it debuted, a full three years ago, with a thrilling revenge plot between affluent businesswoman Amy Lau (Ali Wong) and struggling handyman Danny Cho (Steven Yeun).
The characters made a big impression – both leads scored major awards for their work – but Beef season 2 shifts focus to an all-new cast as the one-time miniseries becomes a continuing anthology.
Stepping up to the plate are Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Cailee Spaeny and Charles Melton, playing two couples at different stages of life who become locked in a feud that ultimately threatens to destroy their lives.
If you’re as excited as we are for this long-awaited return, read on for everything you need to know about Beef season 2 on Netflix – including that all-important release date.
Beef season 2 release date

Beef season 2 will be released on Netflix on Thursday 16 April 2026.
It’s fair to say that fans have been patient for these new episodes to drop, with a full three years separating the first and second seasons of the hit comedy-drama.
The Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike that gripped Hollywood for much of 2023 would have contributed to that, in addition to Beef director Jake Schreier’s subsequent commitment to last year’s Marvel blockbuster Thunderbolts*.
Furthermore, creator Lee Sung Jin went back to the drawing board for this latest chapter, conjuring up an entirely new roster of characters as he converted Beef into an anthology series (more on that below).
Beef season 2 is slightly shorter than the first, scaling down to eight episodes from the earlier 10-part story.
Beef season 2 cast: Who stars in the new episodes?

Beef season 2 features an all-new cast, led by Carey Mulligan (The Ballad of Wallis Island), Oscar Isaac (Frankenstein), Charles Melton (Warfare) and Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus).
Isaac and Mulligan reunite from past performances in Drive and Inside Llewyn Davis, playing married couple Josh and Lindsay, who hold senior positions in the running of an opulent country club for a wealthy clientele.
Down at the bottom rung of the ladder is Ashley (Spaeny) and Austin (Melton), who witness their bosses in a fiery argument and use their recorded footage as leverage in a blackmail plot.
Korean actor Youn Yuh-jung, who won an Academy Award for her work opposite Beef season 1 star Steven Yeun in 2020 drama Minari, also stars as Chairwoman Park – the super-rich owner of the aforementioned leisure club.

Beef season 2 plot: What is it about?

Beef season 2 is a brand new story unconnected from the events of the first, which follows two couples locked in a high-stakes feud sparked by an “alarming fight” between Josh (Isaac) and Lindsay (Mulligan).
The couple carefully maintain an impression of happiness for the customers at their picturesque country club, but behind closed doors their longtime marriage finds itself on the rocks.
When their young employees Ashley (Spaeny) and Austin (Melton), another couple, drop by one evening, they happen to witness a blazing row that verges on violence – and record a damaging excerpt on their phone.
The scandalous material becomes a lever with which to extort some much-needed benefits from their bosses, but doing so creates a bitter rivalry and triggers an unpredictable chain of events.
Beef season 1 leads Amy (Ali Wong) and Danny (Steven Yeun) do not feature in this latest story, although series creator Lee Sung Jin has previously hinted that he’d be open to revisiting those characters down the line.
In an interview with ELLE, he said that he’d “love to explore them further,” but is currently more interested in analysing “other beefs and other character types”.
