The Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan reunion on Bhooth Bangla is drawing audiences to the cinema halls. After scoring Rs. 3.50 crore in the paid previews on Thursday night, the horror comedy is looking to collect in the range of Rs. 13.50 crores to Rs. 14.50 crores on Friday, taking the opening day total around the Rs. 17 crore mark.

The film has opened better than expected, as the projections prior to the release were in the range of Rs. 15 crore, including paid previews. The early reception seems to be mixed, but on the positive side, it is good enough for this genre. The film will be targeting an opening weekend in the vicinity of Rs. 60 crores, and from there commence the journey towards the Rs. 100 crore club in India.
The film is doing well outside of the national chains, too, as the non-national plexes are also reporting strong occupancies. The first day in national chains seems to be around the Rs. 7 crore mark, with a 50 per cent ratio towards the total business.
The film has good advances for Saturday and Sunday, as the families will be on board for the iconic combo of Akshay and Priyan over the holiday period. The start sets up the film well for a run, and it’s now on the weekend trajectory, as is also the trend from Monday.
