A lot is happening in Aamir Khan’s life right now, and the coming months are set to be significant for the superstar on both the personal and professional fronts. A few days ago, it was announced that his much-loved Oscar-nominated film, Lagaan (2011), will be re-released in cinemas on June 12. The film completes 25 years on June 15, and hence the team of Aamir Khan Productions has decided to go for a re-release. And that’s not all. The superstar will also be throwing a party next weekend to celebrate 25 years of Lagaan as well as Aamir Khan Productions.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The party will be held on Saturday, June 13, at a five-star hotel in Mumbai. The entire team of Lagaan has been invited for the bash. This doesn’t just include the principal and supporting cast, but every unit member and others who had contributed to the film. It’ll be a huge reunion for the whole team and they’ll go down memory lane and share their special memories associated with Lagaan.”

The source continued, “Aamir Khan is quite excited to throw this bash and celebrate a film which is close to his heart. He’s eagerly looking forward to meeting the team and having a gala time with them. It’ll surely be an evening to remember.”

Lagaan, directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, told the story of a drought-struck village in pre-Independence India, where the villagers, though alien to the game of cricket, decide to challenge the seasoned British officers in a match as their last hope to escape paying tax.

Meanwhile, as per sources, Aamir Khan is currently holidaying in Los Angeles with Gauri Spratt. They are expected to return later this week. Both will tie the knot on July 5. A month after that, Aamir Khan’s much-awaited production, Batwara, will be released on August 13. It reunites Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi and also stars Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, Karan Deol and others.
