Chand Mera Dil had opened at Rs. 3 crores last Friday. Now, on its second Friday, the film has hung on there with Rs. 1.20 crore coming in. Last evening also had an important IPL match and that could have potentially impacted the film as well of its few lakhs. The same will actually happen tomorrow as well due to IPL Finals.
However, today the film should see good growth since it’s Saturday when footfalls are anyways higher for such urban multiplex films. Also, due to shortfall from yesterday and tomorrow, the collections should even out today and hence growth should come. At the very least, the film will go past the Rs. 2 crores mark though anything around Rs. 2.25 crores would position Chand Mera Dil better.
With Rs. 19.10 crores in its kitty so far, this Lakshya and Ananya Panday starrer should come close to Rs. 22 crores mark today. This also means that even with a similar Sunday as Saturday, and then Rs. 3 crores during the weekdays will take it closer to Rs. 30 crores total. There would be flurry of new releases starting with Peddi on Thursday and Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai on Friday, which means this is the week where this Vivek Soni directed film would be aiming to earn the most, and then close with a respectable lifetime.
