“He was a master of any genre he touched.” “He regarded his films like his children.” The most glorious & magnificent 4K Blu-ray box set of everything maestro Kubrick has made is coming out this October! Get a closer look below. Criterion Collection has announced a brand new set called The Complete Kubrick – launching in the fall for $480 to buy. Featuring all 13 of his feature films in 4K UHD, along with short films, and most importantly –a treasure trove of 25 hours+ of special features and behind-the-scenes bonuses, which is what really makes this set worth buying. While most of Kubrick’s movies have been restored before, this is the definitive collection featuring any & every goodie they could get their hands on. Criterion explains more info: “Collected here for the first time are Kubrick’s 13 features and three shorts, all restored in 4K, with their original soundtracks alongside the 5.1 mixes, restored & remastered; over 25 hours of interviews, documentaries, and behind-the-scenes materials; and deluxe packaging illustrated with rare photographs, artwork, and documents annotated by Kubrick himself, all housed in[side] a singular box inspired by the director’s legendary archive.” They’ve released a trailer to go along with the news and this seems like a must have for every movie geek out there. I own most of Kubrick’s films on BR already, but of course I want this.
