After a long wait, the Funny Married Stuff star had her scene in the HBO series’ third season, but the makers had cut her role extremely short, leaving her character with only one line and a blink-and-miss appearance.
Nika King reprised her role as Leslie Bennett, Rue Bennett’s mother, on the latest season of Euphoria. And she waited a long time to see herself on the screen, as did her mother. But the hit teen drama show’s latest installment featured comically less screentime for her.
In the scene where Rue talks to her mother over the phone, viewers solely hear her side of the conversation. The camera only cuts to Leslie at the end of the conversation, where viewers see her speak only a single line.
Consequently, King took to her Instagram to share her and her mother’s reaction to this scene. “I just watched my episode that I’ve been promoting all week, and my mom over here clowning me. My mom is clowning me! She said the internet waited all this time for me to just say one line,” she said in the video where she laughed at the camera.
“Three years,” the 47-year-old’s mother added from the background. “I can’t do nothing but laugh,” King stated. Her mother, Sharon Allen, further quipped, “What you want me to say? You ain’t had nothing to say [in the episode].”
“You better be glad I have a sense of humor,” the 50 First Dates actress said at the end of the video. She concluded, “You better be glad I got thick skin.”
Notably, Nika King had previously gone viral for a stand-up set about the long-delayed Euphoria Season 3.
