“Oh Joe, that’s adorable!” Illumination & Universal Pictures have revealed their first look teaser trailer for the fun new animation movie called Not Alone, a sci-fi comedy from the creators of the Minions. This new teaser is playing in front of the release of Minions & Monsters this weekend (which is getting great reviews). “There’s more life out there” – the taglinebecause some aliens come crashing in. The story follows a rocket mechanic and an astro-botanist preparing for a revolutionary rocket launch who develop romantic sparks – while at the same time, three runaway aliens take refuge in his home, seeking the rocket as their escape. A romantic comedy mashed up with aliens who want to get back home plot. Not Alone features the voices of Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez with a release set for April 2027 next spring. The aliens are voiced by renowned British comedic actors Rob Brydon, Diane Morgan and Jamie Demetriou starring as Dunk, Welly and Shirm, Brett Goldstein as Officer Zandro, along with Allison Janney and Lamorne Morris. So far this looks pretty good – an amusing concept with the colorful little aliens being super wacky and especially funny. They’re going to cause so much trouble haha! Should be fun. In his first-ever feature-length animated film, 4-time Oscar-nominee Timothée Chalamet stars as Joe, an introverted rocket mechanic who lives a quiet life alone. Co-starring with Chalamet in this story is Selena Gomez who plays Fran, a brilliant astro-botanist who is developing the world’s first-ever plant-fueled rocket. When Joe & Fran are brought together to prepare for the inaugural launch of this revolutionary rocket, there are immediate sparks, but neither is particularly adept at romance. Life becomes even more complicated when three aliens—tiny, unruly and adorable—take refuge in Joe’s home. Dunk, Welly and Shirm are on the interplanetary run from a zealous-yet-inept officer of the law named Zandro. The aliens determine that Fran’s rocket could provide their means of getting back home to safety. Not Alone is an animated movie co-directed by Eric Guillon (co-director of Despicable Me 3 / designer of Despicable Me & Minions) & Claire Dodgson (editor of The Lorax, Minions, Despicable Me 3, Minions: The Rise of Gru) & Jonathan del Val (co-director of Minions: The Rise of Gru, The Secret Life of Pets 2).
