It’s been a record season for maximum breaks on the World Snooker Tour and, with the curtain set to fall on the 2025/26 campaign at The Crucible, attention now turns to whether anyone can achieve the feat on the sport’s biggest stage.
The tally of players to do it at the World Snooker Championship stands at 11 after Mark Allen racked up the only 147 at last year’s tournament to join the likes of Jimmy White, Ronnie O’Sullivan, and Stephen Hendry in the history books.
If any of this year’s competitors add their names to the list, their reward will go beyond just clout – with a significant financial incentive on offer as well.
Chang Bingyu made a maximum in qualifying against Luca Brecel, notching up the record-extending 24th in 2025/26, but that won’t go down as an official World Snooker Championship maximum
The question is, can anyone go one better and do it during the tournament?
