HYBE INDIA recently brought Mumbai’s K-pop community together with its large-scale immersive Pop-Up Park and in-person audition initiative, drawing significant crowds over the weekend. Held on May 9 and 10 at Inorbit Mall, the event coincided with HYBE INDIA’s ongoing global talent search aimed at discovering emerging musical talent from India and the Indian diaspora.

HYBE INDIA’s Mumbai Pop-Up Park attracts massive crowds as K-pop fans and aspiring artists gather for global auditions
The entertainment company, known for its association with some of the biggest names in global pop culture, conducted its Mumbai auditions on May 10 at JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu. Aspiring participants were required to pre-book their audition slots through BookMyShow.
Apart from the auditions, the HYBE INDIA Pop-Up Park became a major attraction for fans across the city. Spread across an expansive area inside Inorbit Mall, the event featured multiple interactive experiences, live music performances and fan engagement activities designed to celebrate K-pop culture and HYBE’s growing presence in India.
The two-day event also included live performances and DJ sets by artists including Kayan, Outstation and Shria Rao. Fans participated in several activities such as K-pop DJ parties, quiz sessions and Random Play Dance segments powered by Dance Planet from South Korea.
One of the major highlights of the event was the introduction of the Weverse Fan Letter Zone in India for HYBE artists. The experience allowed fans to engage more closely with the larger HYBE ecosystem while contributing to the immersive atmosphere created throughout the venue.
Several interactive brand zones were also set up in collaboration with companies including H&M, Kia India, Nongshim, Samsung India and Shoppers Stop. The venue also featured food counters, noodle bars, merchandise sections, glitter and make-up stations, giveaways and dedicated photo booths for attendees.
Visitors interested in pursuing a music career also had the opportunity to interact directly with casting directors associated with HYBE INDIA through an on-site audition booth. Industry professionals reportedly guided participants about the audition process and offered advice on preparing for future rounds.
The HYBE INDIA audition initiative is part of a larger 15-city global tour open to female participants born between 2005 and 2011. Applicants can audition in categories such as singing, dancing and rap, with evaluations conducted by HYBE’s international experts.
For those unable to attend the Mumbai auditions physically, the company has also kept online auditions open from March 31 to July 31 through its official digital platforms.
