Carlos Alcaraz and Wimbledon have a burgeoning love affair.

The Spaniard has thrived on the grass courts of SW19, winning back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024, and won the hearts of many of its patrons with his sunny disposition and dazzling smile.

After losing to rival Jannik Sinner in last year’s final, Alcaraz made his feelings for the Championships and the All England Club clear.

He said: “Wimbledon is one of the most beautiful tournaments, if not the most beautiful. I love playing here. I feel at home.”

The 23-year-old promised he’d be back for more battles with Sinner and to contest for success at Wimbledon but has that been put on hold by injuries?

Radio Times breaks down whether Carlos Alcaraz will play at Wimbledon 2026.

Will Carlos Alcaraz play at Wimbledon 2026?

No, Carlos Alcaraz will miss Wimbledon this year due to a right wrist injury.

The same issue has kept the Spaniard out of competition since the Barcelona Open in April and saw him miss the French Open.

Alcaraz confirmed in May that he would be missing this year’s Championships

He said: “My recovery is going well and I’m feeling much better, but unfortunately I’m still not ready to compete, which is why I have to withdraw from the grass-court swing at Queen’s and Wimbledon.

“They are two truly special tournaments for me and I will miss them a lot. We’ll keep working to come back as soon as possible.”

In his absence, World No.1 Jannik Sinner is the overwhelming favourite to win the Wimbledon title – though the likes of Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic will hope to challenge.

Alcaraz is expected to return in time to defend his US Open title at Flushing Meadows in x and revealed in a recent Instagram post that he was back on court.
