Actor Parvathy Thiruvothu recently spoke about the lasting emotional impact of losing two of her former co-actors, Irrfan Khan and Puneeth Rajkumar. In a candid conversation with Male Feminist, Parvathy reflected on her experiences working with the late actors and how their absence continues to feel deeply personal, even years after their passing.

Parvathy worked with Irrfan Khan in Qarib Qarib Single and with Puneeth Rajkumar in Milana. Revisiting those collaborations, she shared how the connection formed on set extended beyond professional interactions. “There’s something strange about losing a character to death. We created these characters and these worlds together, and it still hasn’t settled,” she said, describing the lingering sense of loss that accompanies such experiences.

Speaking about Irrfan Khan, Parvathy noted that her understanding of him came largely from the gentleness and respect he brought to his work and interactions. Addressing a question about whether she considered him a feminist, she pointed to the emotional openness visible in his son Babil as a reflection of the environment Irrfan may have fostered. “That softness,” she remarked, “doesn’t come from nowhere,” suggesting that empathy and sensitivity were values quietly present in his life.

Her recollections of Puneeth Rajkumar were similarly grounded in admiration and respect. Known affectionately as “Appu” in Karnataka, Puneeth was not only a popular actor but also a significant cultural presence. Parvathy recalled their film Milana, which went on to enjoy an unusually long theatrical run of over a year, underscoring the strong bond Puneeth shared with audiences and his widespread appeal.

While revisiting these memories, Parvathy’s reflections remained focused on the human aspects of loss , the relationships formed through shared creative work and the sense of incompleteness that follows when those bonds are unexpectedly broken.

On the professional front, Parvathy is preparing for her OTT debut with Storm, produced by HRX Films. She will also be seen in the upcoming film I, Nobody, co-starring Prithviraj Sukumaran.
