Actor Kiara Advani has opened up about her postpartum journey and the emotional challenges she faced after welcoming her first child, daughter Saraayah, with husband Sidharth Malhotra. Speaking candidly on a podcast with Raj Shamani, the actress reflected on the difficult early days of motherhood and how deeply emotional that period was for her.

Talking about Sidharth’s support as a new father, Kiara said, “Like my husband, how you say hands-on. Abhi unke liye (Now for them) he’s doing his best, right? He feels like, and he is. He’s there. I think har mard ko yahi lag raha hoga na ki, ‘Par main toh hoon, main koshish kar raha hoon, main sab kar raha hoon, par aisa kya hai jo main nahi kar raha hoon (Every man would possible feel like ‘I am there, I am doing everything, I am trying everything, so what is it that I am not doing)?’ or ‘What am I lacking?’ Because nobody talks, koi batane wala hai hi nahi that what you should do, what you need. For everyone, it’s different, I am sure.”

She further explained how much attention naturally goes toward the newborn, often leaving little room to address what a new mother may be experiencing emotionally. “But sab na, I think baby ke liye bahut sochte hain. Baccha so raha hai, baccha theek hai (everyone thinks a lot for the baby – if the kid is sleeping, if they are fine), you know, help my wife and diaper changes, ya phir giving my baby a bath, massages, the routine that the first few months of the infant stage is.”

Opening up about her vulnerable state during those first few days, Kiara revealed, “Us waqt (at that time), I don’t know if it was just me missing him in my life at that point or what, but I was going through… everything was triggering me. Anything matlab, you could say something which today we laugh about, but at that point during those first few days, anything could just… pat pat pat pat pat… mere aansu nikal jaate (tears started falling).”

Kiara and Sidharth tied the knot on February 7, 2023, in an intimate yet grand ceremony at Suryagarh Palace, Rajasthan, in the presence of close friends and family. Their wedding quickly became one of Bollywood’s most celebrated unions.

The couple announced their pregnancy in February 2025, delighting fans with the happy news. In July 2025, they shared a heartfelt social media post announcing the arrival of their baby girl, and in November 2025, they introduced her to the world by revealing her name — Saraayah.

Now embracing parenthood, the couple continues to win hearts, with Kiara’s honest account of motherhood resonating strongly with new parents everywhere.
