Malavika Mohanan recently opened up about her bond with Vijay, popularly known as Thalapathy Vijay, while reflecting on her experience of working with him in the blockbuster film Master. The actress shared fond memories from the sets and revealed how a professional collaboration gradually turned into a meaningful friendship over time.

Having established herself as one of the prominent faces across South Indian cinema and beyond, Malavika has worked alongside several leading stars including Prabhas, Mohanlal, Dulquer Salmaan, Dhanush, and Vijay Sethupathi. However, Master remains one of the major milestones in her career, with audiences praising her chemistry and screen presence opposite Vijay.

Speaking about her first interaction with the superstar, Malavika said, “I met him for the first time on set, and it was a very intense challenging scene that we had to do on that day as well. So, I was completely wrapped up in my lines which I had received last minute. So, I was trying to mug it up and it was more like a quick ‘Hi’ before getting into my own world. He is very quiet and very disciplined on set, very observant. He’s completely tuned in. So that’s my earliest memory of him and then he went on to of course become a very dear friend and he is super fun. He is somebody I can call up and reach out to, and he gives you that access, which I think is very sweet because not everybody does that. So, I really admire him for that.”

The actress also spoke about Vijay’s grounded personality and the comfort he extends to those around him despite his massive stardom and political responsibilities. According to Malavika, his approachable nature is something she deeply respects.

She further recalled how she often jokes with him about missing the opportunity to dance alongside him in Master, considering Vijay’s popularity for his signature dance moves and energetic songs. She added, “I did a film with Thalapathy Vijay, Master, and he’s so well known for his dancing. So I keep telling him also that, ‘Hey, I missed out on a chance to dance with you.’ So, he laughs about it too.”

On the professional front, Malavika Mohanan is gearing up for multiple upcoming projects including Sardar 2 alongside Karthi and Pocket Novel with Vijay Sethupathi.
