Netflix subscribers can now watch Sony Pictures’ recently released sports comedy movie, starring David Harbour and Caleb McLaughlin. This served as their first project together after Stranger Things ended its five-season run nearly five months ago. As of today, one of 2026’s latest animated films, Goat, is now available to stream on Netflix.
What do we know about David Harbour and Caleb McLaughlin’s Goat movie?
Goat was animated by the creative team responsible for last year’s most-talked-about animated movie, KPop Demon Hunters. In the 2026 film, McLaughlin voiced the character of a young Boer goat named Will, who unexpectedly becomes a professional roarball (basketball) player despite his small size. The ensemble cast also included Harbour, Stephen Curry, Gabrielle Union, Nicola Coughlan, Nick Kroll, Jenifer Lewis, Aaron Pierre, Patton Oswalt, Andrew Santino, Bobby Lee, Eduardo Franco, Sherry Cola, Jelly Roll, and Jennifer Hudson.
Since its debut, the movie has received a Certified Fresh score of 84% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 88 reviews. Meanwhile, its Popcormeter score was slightly higher at 93%. During its theatrical run, it grossed around $193 million at the global box office.
“The film is an original action-comedy set in an all-animal world. The story follows Will, a small goat with big dreams who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to join the pros and play roarball – a high-intensity, co-ed, full-contact sport dominated by the fastest, fiercest animals in the world,” reads the official synopsis. “Will’s new teammates aren’t thrilled about having a little goat on their roster, but Will is determined to revolutionize the sport and prove once and for all that ‘smalls can ball!’”
Goat was directed by Tyree Dillihay and Adam Rosette, with Aaron Buchsbaum and Teddy Riley writing the screenplay, which was inspired by Chris Tougas’ Funky Dunks book. It was produced by Curry, Erick Peyton, Michelle Raimo Kouyate, Rodney Rothman, and Adam Rosenberg, with Rick Mischel and Fonda Snyder serving as executive producers.
