Sitaare Zameen Par, the spiritual successor to the 2007 film Taare Zameen Par, found wide acceptance as a family-oriented entertainer and connected with audiences across the country. Following its successful theatrical run, Aamir Khan took an unconventional step by releasing the sports comedy-drama on YouTube under the “Janta Ka Theater” initiative at a price of Rs 100, offering a new approach to making cinema more accessible to viewers.

Parents get emotional at Sitaaron Ke Sitaare screening ahead of December 19 release

The makers are now set to spotlight the real people behind the Sitaare Zameen Par story through a documentary titled Sitaaron Ke Sitaare. Ahead of its wider release, the documentary was first screened for the parents, offering them a chance to watch it early, and their responses have been described as heartfelt.

Taking to social media, the makers shared a video capturing the parents’ reactions while watching Sitaaron Ke Sitaare. They further penned the caption, “A story that brought smiles, tears, and a lot of heart to the room. Watch Sitaaron Ke Sitaare in theatres on December 19.”

Directed by Shaanib Bakshi, Sitaaron Ke Sitaare will be released on 19th December, exclusively on Aamir Khan Talkies’ YouTube channel.

Aamir Khan Productions proudly presented 10 rising stars: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar. Directed by R. S. Prasanna, who previously helmed the barrier-breaking blockbuster Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, now returns with the biggest collaboration with Aamir Khan Productions’ Sitaare Zameen Par.

Made under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, Sitaare Zameen Par stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh in lead roles along with the 10 rising stars. The lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and music is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The screenplay is written By Divy Nidhi Sharma. The film is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, with B. Shrinivas Rao and Ravi Bhagchandka as producers. Directed by R. S. Prasanna, the film released in theatres on 20th June, 2025.
