You know, I think for me there are some characters that are very special for you. Of course, there are many, but some give you so much love that they become very special for your lifetime. And Ayesha is such a character.”

She also reflected on the nature of the role and its place within a commercial film. “Whether it was De De Pyaar De or De De Pyaar De 2, it is very rare that you get an author backed role in a commercial film where the girl is taking the narrative forward. So I think for me, from the role, from the film, from the love of the audience, that film gave me everything.”

Commenting on the film’s OTT performance, Rakul added, “So I am very excited, very grateful, very happy. And the beginning of 2026 has also come with a blast on our OTT Netflix and it is trending globally. So I am just very overwhelmed and very happy and I hope that people keep giving love.”
