Salman Khan is undergoing a rigorous physical transformation for his upcoming film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, with details emerging about the demanding preparation behind the role.

The war drama, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, will see Salman in a physically intense avatar, featuring large-scale action and combat sequences. According to a source close to the production, a significant part of his training took place under challenging conditions in Ladakh.

“Salman Khan underwent a remarkable physical transformation for the film. He trained at extremely high altitudes in Ladakh, combining intense endurance drills with heavy weight sessions,” the source revealed. The preparation reportedly involved a mix of stamina-building routines and strength training tailored for the role. The source further added, “It was easily one of the most gruelling fitness regimens he took on in recent years, reflecting a completely new level of commitment to the role.” Despite the physically demanding schedule, the actor is said to have continued training while dealing with injuries.

Highlighting this aspect, the source said, “He pushed through all of this despite dealing with multiple injuries. To train with such intensity, discipline, and passion under those conditions… it’s something only Salman Khan can pull off.”

Backed by Salman Khan Films and produced by Salma Khan, the film is positioned as a story centred on themes of bravery, sacrifice, and resilience. It also features Chitrangada Singh in a key role.
