The film has been selected as India’s official entry for the Oscars 2026 in the Best International Feature Film category by the Film Federation of India (FFI), marking a significant milestone for the team. Produced by Dharma Productions, the film stars Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor, and is directed by Neeraj Ghaywan.

Reacting to the Oscars announcement earlier, producer Karan Johar had shared, “We are deeply honoured and humbled that Homebound has been selected as India’s official entry to the Academy Awards. Neeraj Ghaywan’s labour of love is sure to find a home in a million hearts across the world.” The film is currently streaming on Netflix, allowing global audiences to engage with it as awards-season conversations build.

On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in 2023’s Dunki, following which he made a cameo appearance in The Ba***ds Of Bollywood, the directorial debut of his son Aryan Khan. He will next be seen in King, directed by Siddharth Anand, which is currently under production.
