Stephen Graham has teased a follow-up for the Adolescence team as they celebrated a night of wins at the BAFTA TV Awards 2026.
The smash-hit Netflix series, which was co-written by Graham and Jack Thorne, became an international sensation on its release last year – and it’s since been reflected during awards season.
The four-episode limited series follows a young boy as he’s arrested on suspicion of murdering a female schoolmate.
At today’s ceremony, held at London’s Royal Festival Hall, Adolescence was up for 12 awards – including Best Drama, P&O Cruises Most Memorable Moment, and five acting gongs from the cast.
Early on in the ceremony, the show scooped three awards, including Best Supporting Actor for Owen Cooper, Best Supporting Actress for Catherine Tremarco, and Limited Series.
Speaking after winning the Limited Drama award, Graham noted that things might not be over for everyone involved, and they may reunite sooner rather than later.
“There’s something in development right now. Which is… is it public?” he noted.
When those present confirmed “no” to awkward laughs, he said: “Well, yeah Ashley’s [Walters] directing an amazing film […] which is wonderful.
“And Ashley’s now smashing it as an actor like I always knew he was. We all, you know, let’s be honest, […] He’s one of our greatest actors that we have had. He’s amazing and beautiful ever since Bullet Boy.”

He then continued to praise the rest of his castmates, celebrating Owen Cooper for being in Hollywood films, Erin Doherty “cracking America” with her upcoming projects, and Christine Tremarco being “constantly working”.
While Graham stopped short of revealing any new projects, he noted that he plans to continue making grounded dramas in the future.
“This has all been about people being seen, but we need opportunities to be seen,” he said. “So if you want us to keep creating this stuff, we will, if you want us to […] we will keep doing that.
“We’ll keep shining the light on stories that need to be told, and we’ll keep finding new talent, and we’ll keep representing talent that hasn’t been discovered properly.”
