The fifth season of hit kitchen drama The Bear will bring the series to a close later this month, and now we’ve got our first look at the new run of eight episodes.

A new trailer for season 5 has been released, giving us some hints as to what we can expect, after the season 4 finale saw Jeremy Allen White’s Carmy decide to exit the business.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the trailer sees him back in the kitchen, working with the rest of the team to turn the business around, even as they face flooding and the threat of closure, as Oliver Platt’s Uncle Jimmy threatens to sell the building.
Notably, the team, including Carmy, are seen in various shots of the trailer wearing blue Original Beef of Chicagoland t-shirts, the original name of the restaurant (complete with “Original Berf” typos like Richie’s in season 1). How this factors in, remains to be seen.

Fans will also note Ayo Edebiri’s Sydney has now fully taken charge after her deal with Carmy at the end of season 4, and also will be relieved to see Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Richie feature so prominently.
After all, the end of Gary, the one-off prequel film focusing on Richie and Mikey before the events of season 1, ended with a flash-forward to present day, where Richie was seen getting into a horrific car accident.
Along with White, Edebiri, Moss-Bachrach and Platt, the fifth season will also star Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson, with Ricky Staffieri, Will Poulter and Jamie Lee Curtis returning to their recurring roles.

The synopsis for season 5 says that it “picks up the morning after Sydney Adamu (Edebiri), Richard ‘Richie’ Jerimovich (Moss-Bachrach) and Natalie ‘Sugar’ Berzatto (Elliott) discover that Chef Carmen ‘Carmy’ Berzatto (White) has quit the food industry, leaving the restaurant to them.
“With no money, the threat of a sale and a torrential storm in their way, the new partners must band together with the rest of the team to achieve one last service, hoping they’ll finally earn a Michelin star. Ultimately, they learn that what makes a restaurant ‘perfect’ might not be the food, but the people.”
The Bear season 5 will premiere on Disney+ on Friday 26 June 2026. You can sign up to Disney+ from £5.99 a month now.
