The Boys Season 5 is in its final stretch, and penultimate Episode 7, finally revealed how the eponymous group of heroes plans to kill Homelander. Although it came at a great personal cost, the Boys finally have what they need to bring the tyrannical Supe down, as both the season and the series prepare to conclude in the upcoming finale.

How The Boys will kill Homelander revealed
The Boys’ penultimate episode, titled “The Frenchman, the Female, and the Man Called Mother’s Milk,” premiered earlier today. It sets up the final showdown between Homelander and the Boys.
The episode continues the idea from its predecessor, in which Soldier Boy takes away Bombsight’s powers by blasting radiation at him. Since Soldier Boy clearly isn’t going to help the Boys kill Homelander, they need someone with similar power.
Consequently, Butcher and Frenchie decided to expose Kimiko, with her permission, to the same type of radiation that gave Soldier Boy his powers. In theory, this should allow her to have the same abilities, which they can use to take away Homelander’s power and make him a human.
However, the process becomes very painful, with Kimiko nowhere near gaining the powers. Frenchie then turns to Sister Sage for help, but she is deep in guilt for not being able to predict Soldier Boy’s actions. He eventually convinces her to help him, and the two expose Kimiko to the radiation one last time.
While the two complete their experiment, Kimiko is frail and still healing. Meanwhile, a new problem emerges: Homelander arrives at their hideout, seeking to kill Sister Sage for betraying him. With a quick decision, Frenchie hides Kimiko with Sister Sage in an air duct. He then lures Homelander into the Uranium chamber and exposes them both to it.
Although Homelander escapes with minor Uranium burns on his face, the radiation deeply impacts Frenchie. By the time Kimiko, now completely healed, gets to him, he is, unfortunately, far from being saved. Ultimately, Frenchie dies in her arms.
Episode 7 doesn’t outright say that the Boys’ experiment is successful. But since Kimiko is fully healed, it implies they succeeded in making her empowered enough to target Homelander. Moreover, the episode features Marie Moreau and Jordan Li from Gen V. So, with everyone’s combined capabilities, the Boys should be able to kill Homelander.
Meanwhile, The Boys series finale, titled “Blood and Bone,” will air on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
