Fans of The Testaments have been handed a major update ahead of the show’s season 1 finale.

Disney+ has confirmed that the Hulu Original drama, which serves as the next chapter in the world of The Handmaid’s Tale, has been renewed for a second season.
The announcement comes before the first season wraps up on Wednesday 27 May, with season 1 currently streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
Based on Margaret Atwood’s Booker Prize-winning novel of the same name, The Testaments shifts focus to a new generation growing up under the brutal rule of Gilead.
The series follows Agnes (Chase Infiniti), a dutiful and devout young teen, and Daisy (Lucy Halliday), a new arrival from beyond Gilead’s borders, as their lives collide within Aunt Lydia’s (Ann Dowd) elite preparatory school for future wives.
There, obedience is enforced with cruelty and religious justification – but the girls’ bond soon becomes the catalyst for events that could reshape their past, present and future.
The first season also featured a major surprise for fans of The Handmaid’s Tale, with Elisabeth Moss returning in a guest appearance as June Osborne.
