AMC’s acclaimed dark fantasy series Interview with the Vampire returns this summer with a substantial makeover, morphing into The Vampire Lestat as it shifts focus to Sam Reid’s seductive menace.
Following the trajectory of Anne Rice‘s novels, this latest entry marks a substantial change after two seasons spent exploring events from the perspective of lover/rival Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson).
Expect a slightly reduced role for Anderson (although he does feature) as we take a wild trip into the warped mind of immortal Lestat, who embraces a glam rock persona in the 1980s that dazzles everyone around him.
It remains to be seen whether The Vampire Lestat can capitalise on the heightened demand for queer TV post-Heated Rivalry, but fans would surely love to see the show finally get the attention it has long-deserved.

The next episode of The Vampire Lestat will be released this Sunday on AMC (in the US).
The show is following a weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping every weekend from 7 June up until mid-July, when the season finale will arrive.

The Vampire Lestat will be following a weekly release schedule, spread over just shy of two months, on US broadcaster AMC. Unfortunately, these dates won’t apply to UK viewers, who will be kept waiting a bit longer to find out what’s in store.
