It’s time to venture back into the dark world of Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles, as Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) roars back to life – and seeks to correct the record laid out by his ex-lover Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson).

We’ll catch up with The Vampire Lestat in the 1980s, where he finds a surprising second life as a glam rock icon, whose influence among vampires and humans alike opens the door to frightening new possibilities.
Anderson reprises his role as Louis, but takes a step back from the main narrative after fronting season 2’s Paris-set storyline, with the very title of the show changing to reflect this shift in focus.
The Vampire Lestat is hoped to restore the Rice-inspired Immortal Universe to a healthy shape, following the underwhelming reception to Mayfair Witches and the early cancellation of Talamasca: The Secret Order.
Early buzz is sounding very good indeed, so we’re confident this raucous return will have been worth the wait. Here’s what we know so far about where and when The Vampire Lestat will be available in the UK.
How to watch The Vampire Lestat in the UK

We have good news and bad news: to get the worst part out of the way, The Vampire Lestat is not currently available in the UK, despite premiering in the US (via AMC) on Sunday 7 June 2026.
But don’t worry! Radio Times understands that The Vampire Lestat will be coming to BBC iPlayer this summer, where it will join Interview with the Vampire seasons 1 and 2 (available now).
There’s no confirmed launch date just yet, but the clear indication is that UK-based fans will be waiting only a few more months (at most) to watch the new episodes. Alas, they will have to be wary of spoilers until then.
What is The Vampire Lestat about?
The Vampire Lestat is the rebranded third season of Interview with the Vampire, which derives its name from the second book in Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles series.
As the title suggests, these new episodes will break away from Louis de Pointe du Lac’s point of view (although actor Jacob Anderson will continue to appear), as it takes an unpredictable journey into the mind of his hedonistic ex lover.

The synopsis, courtesy of AMC, reads: “In the rock and roll centric season, the Vampire Lestat goes on an electric multi-city tour while being haunted by ‘muses’ from his wild and rebellious past.
“As his band’s popularity and star power rises, so does Lestat’s influence over vampires and humans alike, leaving others to contend with Lestat’s power in the face of the Great Conversion, an unnatural surge in the vampire population.”
