Spain return to Group H action on Sunday with Luis de la Fuente’s side looking to secure their first World Cup win this summer against Saudi Arabia.

The European champions were stunned by Cape Verde in their group opener, with the small nation and World Cup debutants holding one of the tournament favourites to a 0-0 draw.

Many expected it to be a cricket score when Spain played the 64th-ranked Cape Verde and De la Fuente’s side now have to bounce back against Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia played Uruguay in their group opener with many expecting the latter to win comfortably. However, Saudi Arabia took the lead in the first half through Abdulelah Al-Amri and they held on until the 80th minute, until Maximiliano Araujo netted the equaliser in a 1-1 draw.
Saudi Arabia have only ever got out of the group stages once in their previous seven World Cup appearances and they face an uphill battle to reach the knockout stages.
