Actor Adivi Sesh has joined hands with PETA India for a new campaign released ahead of World Environment Day on June 5. The campaign features the actor alongside two chicks and carries the message, “Chicks Love a Vegetarian,” encouraging people to consider meat-free food choices.

Adivi Sesh teams up with PETA India for World Environment Day campaign; says, “I choose compassion with every meal”

Known for films such as G2 and Dacoit: A Love Story, Adivi Sesh appears in the campaign to raise awareness about animal welfare and the impact of dietary choices on animals and the environment. The campaign was photographed by Shiva SS, with makeup by Tulasi Krishna Chintha, styling by Rekha Boggarapu, and hair by Sandeep Kumar Chenna.

Speaking about the initiative, Adivi Sesh said, “When you look into the eyes of a chicken, it’s easy to see that these are thinking, feeling beings who experience fear and love just like we do, and they don’t want to die. I don’t want to add more suffering to this world. That’s why I choose compassion with every meal by leaving animals off my plate.”

As part of the campaign, PETA India highlighted concerns regarding the treatment of chickens in the meat industry. The organization stated that chickens are capable of forming social bonds and displaying complex behaviours, but are often subjected to intensive farming practices before being slaughtered for meat production.

The campaign also draws attention to the environmental and health-related arguments often associated with vegetarian diets. According to PETA India, reducing or eliminating meat consumption can help lower an individual’s food-related carbon footprint while also contributing to improved health outcomes.

Adivi Sesh joins a list of celebrities who have previously collaborated with PETA India to promote vegetarian and vegan lifestyles. Actors including Kartik Aaryan, Anushka Sharma, Shahid Kapoor, Hema Malini and R. Madhavan have participated in similar campaigns for the organization over the years.

PETA India, whose motto states that “animals are not ours to eat or abuse in any way,” advocates for animal rights and campaigns against what it describes as speciesism, the belief that human interests are inherently more important than those of other animals.

On the professional front, Adivi Sesh was last seen in Dacoit: A Love Story, which also featured Mrunal Thakur and Anurag Kashyap in key roles. The film garnered attention from audiences across the country, while the actor continues to work on upcoming projects, including the much-awaited G2.
