Ranveer Singh has been in the news in recent weeks following the consequences of his reported exit from Excel Entertainment’s upcoming ambitious project Don 3. A number of people from the entertainment industry have shared their views on the issue. The latest to join the bandwagon is Ammy Virk, who has firmly taken Ranveer’s side.

Ammy Virk backs Ranveer Singh in Don 3 dispute, says producers “ignored him” during lean phase

“They ignored him, now they want money back”
Speaking to Connect Cine, Virk said he does not know the full details of the dispute but stands behind Ranveer regardless.

“I feel, when he had a few flops, then you could have started Don 3. Then they ignored him. Now that Dhurandhar is a hit, they are asking for their money back,” Virk said on the podcast as reported by The Indian Express.

He went on to say that Ranveer should not return the sum being demanded: “They can do whatever they want. Whatever they are owed of Rs 2-4 crores, take that and move on. Who is going to give Rs 45 crores?”

Virk also played down the likelihood of legal action producing any outcome, adding: “These kinds of cases go nowhere. They go on for 20 years.”

Ranveer put everything into Dhurandhar
Virk, who starred alongside Ranveer in Kabir Khan’s 83, recalled a message the actor sent him after the trailer of the first Dhurandhar film dropped. “He told me that I have invested everything in this film,” Virk said. “I told him to wait and see and said that his daughter has brought him good luck and God was going to be kind. And that’s what happened. His daughter brought him such good luck.” Ranveer and Deepika Padukone welcomed their daughter, Dua, in September 2024.

Virk said he spoke to Ranveer again before the second film’s release: “I told him, ‘See, your daughter brought such good luck’. Kids come with their own fortune. The second film also did so well. He was so happy.”

He added with evident pride: “You feel so proud that India’s most successful has my friend in it.”
