“A mother-daugher bachelorette party road trip!” Off they go! Roku Channel has debuted an official trailer for a wacky fun road trip comedy called simply Broad Trip, arriving for streaming to watch (for free!) this May. Every road trip has its detours. Sophia Bush, Lauren Holly, and Steve Guttenberg star in this adventure centered on the dynamics between an uptight daughter & her free spirit mother. The story follows buttoned-up daughter Alice who plans a bachelorette road trip with her wild mother Jeanie to talk her out of marrying a guy she just met, as they rediscover their bond while confronting old wounds. “At Roku, our goal is to tell stories that reflect the humor, heart, and everyday moments our viewers connect with the most. Led by the amazing Sophia Bush and Lauren Holly, Broad Trip captures that spirit perfectly with its hilarious and heartfelt take on family relationships.” This seems like a really fun time if you’re into this kooky humor.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe’s comedy Broad Trip, from YouTube:

Every road trip has its detours. When buttoned-up daughter Alice (Sophia Bush) plans a “bachelorette” road trip with her wild and impulsive mother, Jeanie, to talk her out of marrying a guy she just met, they rediscover their unbreakable bond, confronting old wounds and old flames, while learning the lesson that sometimes life doesn’t follow a plan — and maybe that’s okay. Broad Trip is directed by Canadian-Chinese-Scottish actress / filmmaker Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe (aka Crystal Lowe), director of the TV movies This Time Each Year, Pie to Die For, and Eat Pray Lie previously, plus a few other short films. The screenplay is written by Chelsea Davison. It’s produced by Michael Barbuto, Caitlin Delaney, Joel S. Rice. Roku debuts Lowe’s Broad Trip comedy movie streaming on Roku Channel starting on May 8th, 2026. Want to watch?
